Okay I saw Wes has the speer 50 grain TNT bullets. I'd like to try them as I have the z-max. My question is what's the comparison between the two? Do they group good? What type of velocity are you getting?

The 50gr TNT are a flat base bullet, and are explosive on small game.
They were a 1 time special we got and are about 30% cheaper than normal.
Great explosive bullet for the price for people doing stuff like Prairie Dog Hunting, etc.
They are plenty accurate for that purpose and have been a favorite of 22 Hornet reloaders for awhile

The Speer 50gr TNT bullets have been around for some time now. Wes is right on in his above.
I used them quite a few years ago to kill woodchucks coming out of an older 14" T/C Contender pistol chambered in 223Rem. They were explosive even at those vels. At 220Swift vels they will come apart if you hit a single blade of grass.
They are perfect for a 223/5.56. They will hold together even with a 1:7 twist.

I remember the old SX bullets. They were pretty explosive for sure!!
